Family Christmas

January 28, 2009 by jjhazard

I am trying to catch up on old news! We had a lovely Christmas break….very restful and quiet around here. My (Joyellen’s) parents visited for five weeks….spending half the time with us and half the time with my brother Jason and his family. The kids loved having “Babu and Tita” around!

One thing that is very special out here is having family for the holidays. Most missionaries do not have this luxery, so those around you become family. Many in our school community will have 10-15 people over to their house for Christmas and everyone gets “adopted” by a family. But this year was fun for us to have our own family!

Christmas Eve we went to House of Hope Home in Naivasha and visited with the children there. We had a wonderful time holding the babies, doing crafts and playing.

We spent Christmas day at Jason and Lisa’s house in Naivasha. it was leisurely day of present opening, story telling, puzzles, kite-flying (the kid’s gift from Babu and Tita), and ending the day with a Happy Birthday cake for Jesus.

I must confess, I didn’t miss the snow!
